As a family of five, our first big trip with teenagers came with a constant stream of questions — “What are we doing next? Where are we going? What’s for dinner?” — and honestly, sometimes I didn’t even know myself! A quick Google search led me to a wonderful planning app called Wanderlog, and those questions are now a thing of the past.
This app is incredibly intuitive and feels like it was designed by someone who has actually traveled with a group. And while I’m calling it an app, it’s really both a website and an app — which I absolutely love. When I’m in planning mode at home, I prefer working on my laptop, but once we’re on the road, the mobile app is where I live.
The layout is clean, the search is seamless, and you can even forward confirmation emails and attachments directly to your itinerary. Trip planning has genuinely never been easier. I also love how simple it is to share your itinerary with family and friends — whether they’re coming along or just want to follow the adventure from home. It even helps track your budget along the way.
There’s a solid free version that’s perfect for getting started, but I chose to upgrade to Wanderlog Pro for access to added features like attaching museum tickets and receipts. At the time of purchase, Pro was $39.99 — well worth it for the keeping my tickets easily available, not to mention the other added benefits.
I actually considered putting together a tutorial, but here’s the thing: it’s so easy to use, you simply don’t need one. Give it a try and let me know what you think!
